This one-day TIG Welding Introduction class is designed for beginners who want a hands-on introduction to Tungsten Inert Gas welding. Whether you are a hobbyist, maker, or simply looking to learn a new skill for personal projects, this class focuses on the fundamentals needed to get started safely and correctly. You will be introduced to the basic techniques that make TIG welding ideal for clean, precise welds on materials such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The class covers torch control, basic heat management, and the coordination required when using a foot pedal or fingertip control, with plenty of time spent practicing at the bench. Instruction includes equipment setup, tungsten selection and preparation, filler rod handling, shielding gas basics, and proper joint preparation. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, correct setup, and understanding how small adjustments affect weld quality. Students will also learn how to strike and maintain a stable arc and recognize common beginner issues. All welding equipment, safety gear, and sample materials are provided for the class. By the end of the day, students will have a solid foundational understanding of TIG welding and the confidence to continue practicing and applying the skills learned to simple, real-world projects.
